Moisture Reduction Technology

Introduction:

We have had an opportunity to work with another slag manufacturer located in Pissurlem, Goa. We provided the complete engineering consultancy services for setting up of the New Green Field GCBS Grinding Unit at Goa. The client had to meet some targets, so we designed a flash dryer system for drying wet slag  for the production.

The need of the Flash dryer here was to dry the wet slag by disintegrating wet cake into fine powder and dried by hot air to form powder. It was beneficial since the feed rate was adjusted automatically as per the variation in moisture content in wet slag cake thereby achieving consistent product quality.

Our flash dryer is energy efficient, requiring no intermediate material handling. It is a continuous production machine suitable for pasty / sticky wet cakes. Adding on, our in house designing and combined manufacture and installation make it ideal.

Observations:

Clair took up the challenge and following solution was proposed and implemented:

  • The PLC System and assembly confirmed to the latest editions of Indian Standard (IS)/IEC specifications
  • The Flash Dryer designed, manufactured and installed was:-Compartmentalized, Single front and Non- drawout type MCC

Since it’s commissioning the wet slag dryer Flash Dryer is operating successfully as per the designed emission norms.
