Our Competence in Petcoke Calcination
Introduction:
Clair has provided hot gas ducting for a petcoke calcination plant located in Andhra Pradesh. Coke calcination is a process that involves the heating of green petroleum coke in order to remove volatile material and purify the coke for further processing. Calcined coke is vital to the aluminum industry, where it is used to produce carbon anodes for aluminum production.
Vertical shaft kilns (VSK) were installed by the client to convert green petroleum coke to Calcined petroleum coke. The client installed 2 production lines and each line consisted of four VSK furnaces. Hot gases from the VSK are taken into a common duct line. Hot gases then pass through the Waste Heat Recovery Boiler (WHRB) and then shall be passed through a flue gas cleaning system, Bag filter, ID fan & stack. The complete hot gas ducting from the VSK to the stack was successfully provided by Clair.
