Successful story for a niche application
Introduction:
Clair bagged an order to install bag filter for the coal fired travelling grate boiler application. The client, located in Tamil Nadu, is one of the leading manufacturers of chemicals and fertilizers. The bag filter was installed for capture of particulate matter from the flue gases coming out of boiler. The process is highly critical because after capture of the particulate matter, the gases are sent to downstream processing where CO2 in the flue gases are recovered. The presence of particulate matter affects the CO2 capturing process downstream. Hence, the performance of bag filter to achieve the desired emission levels (≤ 10 mg/Nm3) becomes very critical.

The bag filter was commissioned in 2016 and since it’s commissioning it has been meeting the stringent emission level of ≤ 10 mg/Nm3. The gases which are being sent to the process plant, after filtration from bag filter, for CO2 recovery is in operation and the CO2 recovered is as per the desired quality.
