Hybrid filter is a combination of Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) and Bag Filter. The ESP is at the inlet, where the particles are changed and collected, and the subsequent fields are bag filter used for removing the finer particles.<\/p><p>The concept of Hybrid filter was introduced with the primary intent of serving as a retrofit solution for existing ESP\u2019s to meet the stringent emission norms. The existing casing of the ESP is used and converted to a Hybrid Filter thereby substantially reducing the cost and down time of the retrofit.<\/p><p>The dust laden gases first enter in to the ESP field and the majority of the dust is collected in this section. The fine dust particles are \u2018electro-statically charged\u2019 in this field section and then move to the \u2018bag house\u2019 section.<\/p><p>These \u2018charged\u2019 dust particles moves over to the filter bag and form a \u2018porous cake\u2019 over the surface and are filtered out from the gas stream. The dust layer forms a porous cake mainly due to the charged dust particles. Such \u2018porosity\u2019 of the dust cake layer helps to achieve a lower differential pressure and this also prevents any major re-entrainment during bag cleaning operation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p><strong><em>Advantages of Hybrid Filter:<\/em><\/strong><\/p><ul><li>As 80-90% of the dust load being collected in the first field of precipitator, this will reduce the load and wear on the filter bags<\/li><li>The dust particle reaching the bags are charged, as a result forms a porous dust cake. This reduces pressure loss across the hybrid filter compared to a normal fabric filter solution<\/li><li>Reduced energy consumption compared to a bag filter solution<\/li><li>Low emission &#8211; similar to a normal bag filter solution<\/li><li>Constant low emission in spite of varying operational conditions also during start-up<\/li><li>Very cost-effective upgrading of existing
